When I was little I used to be really into stamp collecting*. That past-time has faded away but I still love stamps as objects, they really are little works of art. They can be so colorful and funny, and interesting, and even perplexing. Of course my favorite are the older gummed ones, I hate the new sticky kind. When I was last at my family home I grabbed an envelope full to sort though, they ended up being from Czechoslovakia, these are a handful of the best ones.

*To the point where I started a Stamp Collecting Club with some girls from my Girl Scout troupe, which looking back makes me wish I was as cool now as I was then.

  1. Oh, and I, as well. It started when I found boxes of my mother's and great-uncle's stamp collections in my grandfather's attic, and asked if I could keep them and then began from there. I have thousands still carefully categorized and mounted in albums, and though I haven't collected in years, I still like to look through them from time to time, there are some truly lovely ones.

Thanks for sharing these! My favorite two are the one with the tiger, at far, top left, and the one with horses, at bottom right.

    Love,
    Susanna

P.S. I really adore the book journal that I ordered from your shop.

  3. These stamps are just lovely. They somehow remind me of my children's books from Poland. Pretty much the same design.

    Have a great weekend!
