    1. Hello! To do that you'll need to be able to scan your pieces and you'll need to have Photoshop or some other image editing program (there are some free ones out there). Then if you just Google "how to remove backgrounds" you should find a ton of info and tutorials.

    2. thanks for the reply!! I am working in Photoshop, I know ways to remove the background, but I'm wondering how to separate the background from the very fine details:)

    3. Ah, in that case very carefully! Try the magnetic lasso, the magic wand (adjust it's tolerance to be less if you have light areas), and the eraser if all else fails. At least that's what I do, there might be better ways!
