Letters

Letters
Practicing some lettering for fun. I actually get asked to do a lot of logotypes & wedding invites, which has helped improve my hand drawn lettering, but I'd always like to get better. Plus it's fun. I always give myself a lot of grief for not doing "real work", so I never let myself just play around as much as I should. Even though I know that's how you grow and make discoveries and improve techniques. I'm trying to get better about that. The whole theme of this year is going to be "stop feeling guilty".
Box of Assorted Cards
I've decided to start selling boxes of assorted cards, as well as single cards, in my store. I don't know why I didn't offer that option before now actually! At any rate you can now buy a box of six different designs, or a box of six Thank Yous.

  1. I like that theme. I am always feeling guilty about not working harder or doing more. It isn't a nice feeling to feel. It is great to venture out and try new things so I signed up for a furniture upholstery class and I am nervous but, also excited.

  2. OOohhh! So pretty! I've got a little notebook with my various attempts at this sort of Victorian lettering, though mine is no where near as lovely as yours!

Happy working to You!! (And play-time sketching too)!

  4. i work for myself, too. i think i'm going to join in on your theme of not feeling guilty this year! when things/activities are labeled by others as "wasting time", it becomes a bit harder to realize that these very things can be a productive part of the creative process. reading your post has reminded me of that!
here's to 2012, the year of "stop feeling guilty"!!

  5. You've articulated the feeling that's been bothering me all day long. You've made sense of it for me and the lettering is what is says: gorgeous.

    Thank you
